City on a Hill is a Spirit-filled church in Purfleet, Essex. We exist to glorify Jesus, win souls, demonstrate the power of God, make disciples, and help every person step into the purpose God has placed inside them.
Our Story
A Church Built on Fire
City on a Hill was born out of a conviction that the Church is not meant to be a quiet corner of society — it is meant to be a light that cannot be hidden. We are a community of believers who take the Great Commission seriously, who love people fiercely, and who believe that Jesus is the answer to every question the world is asking. Pastor Kevin Treasure alongside his wife Michelle Treasure of which they have been married 26 years and the church family are committed to promoting the Christian faith and values through teaching, preaching, community engagement, and the creative arts. City on a Hill is committed to work with young people to raise awareness of the impact of crime, encourage positive lifestyle choices, and provide mentorship and support. Through drama, music, theatre, film, and community activities, we aim to inspire personal growth, build confidence, and help young people from all backgrounds achieve their goals.
Based in Purfleet, Essex, we gather every week to worship, to grow in the Word, and to be sent out into our communities as ambassadors of the Kingdom. We are not a perfect church — but we are a passionate one.
